you don't know what you've got til it's gone

So I realized that my town had a Sally's Beauty Supply two years ago, ever since then I have been using Seche Vite top coat. It recently has run out and I've been using this cheap one from CHI that I got for free with my straightening iron. Now let me just tell you, you really do not know what you have until it is gone.

I am used to painting my nails laying in bed watching TV shows or Youtube with no problem, that was until Seche Vite ran out. I reverted to the cheap alternative I had which made my nails thick with fingerprints / fabric and whatever else imprinted on them because it took FOREVER to dry. As well as the dreaded bubbles that form when your nail polish is too thick and looks awful.

I had become spoiled by Seche Vite, not only does it really dry fast which is its name en francais, but it happens so quick and hard that you don't even realize and you just start moving on to other things. It does have its downfalls, there was major beauty community dramz about a year ago because it says it can harm a baby or something crazy, I dont know. I'm too lazy to squint and read the bottle but I googled already knowing I wouldn't give it up and it didn't seem so serious.

It also gets goopy as all hell after a couple months, but when that starts happening, I still use it cause I'm cheap but it is also when the brush can barely reach because its so low and you want to throw it out anyways.

Essentially this product is not the best, but is also soooo amazing that I really don't see another alternative because it is so shiny and glossy and makes any polish that may come off hideous at first, look great.

If you are reading this please tell me what you use as a top coat, I kind of want to try the Essie Fastest Drying Top Coat, but I don't know. Opinions and suggestions are always welcome!

anyhoozle, because of this I have been playing around with nail art because once it chips I just take it off, and this was my recent venture...

I was inspired by this photo on tumblr, and learned how to do the tuxedo by CutePolish, and I love it. Literally anyone who was close enough to notice them complemented them. I'm not huge into nail art cause I think a lot of the time it looks tacky, sometimes that is what I'm going for but yeah either way its just for fun.

Sheer

clothes

Now that it is getting warmer, I am really enjoying wearing sheer tops. They are perfect for spring because they are long sleeved so you won't get cold, but they also are breezy and show off skin technically without actually showing any. I am one of those girls that wears leggings as pants... shoot me, I dont care, and always sport a bandeau underneath.

Green Face

facemask

facemaskk

It is currently exam time, so naturally I have spent most of my time laying in bed reading blogs, watching youtube and browsing tumblr. During this time I came across this .gif from my favourite movie, Fast Times of Ridgemont High which really made me want to do a face mask.

My favourite face mask is the Queen Helene Mint Julep Face Masque. I bought it in the States at Walgreens for under $3. I am one of those people that is obsessed with mint so I enjoy that, but it also does everything it says it does. As the description states, it: drys up acne pimples, rinses away blackheads and shrink enlarged pores.

This may be TMI, but when you have a pimple on your face that isn't completely popable (I know, EW) this  definitely helps. Face masks are always a fun time and make your skin feel like a baby's bottom. So when you're bored or procrastinating just slap one on.

ps. for some reason I took a picture of my pj's, these are men's boxers. I think my favourite part of pyjamas is the crazy patterns and I just had to show them off to someone...

Happy Birthday to Me

I am probably the worst person when it comes to accessorizing, that being said, who doesn't love to see that Tiffany Blue box on their birthday. I love the idea of accessories, however I am too lazy to make everything match my outfit everyday.

I have been wearing the same gold claddagh ring since I was 15 and that is about the only jewelry I wear. However now that I get older I like having keepsakes and I love the look of dainty pendants, which brings me to this: the Tiffany mini bow pendant in silver, it is on a 16' chain and nestles right in the collar bones.

I am obsessed, I am the least sweet person that you would assume would wear this necklace, however I have a sweet spot for bows and if I could wear huge bows like a southern cheerleader everyday I would... but alas I live in Canada where that may be frowned upon.
